This beloved community tradition brings the Orange Plaza to life with festive activities, local vendors, seasonal treats, live entertainment, and the lighting of the City’s Christmas tree. Families and friends are invited to gather, explore the market, and enjoy an evening of holiday cheer in one of Orange’s most iconic settings.

The event is centered around Plaza Park in Old Towne Orange. The event boundaries generally extend along Chapman Avenue from Grand Street to Lemon Street and along Glassell Street from Almond Avenue to Maple Avenue.

Parking

Where can I park?

Public parking is available in various lots throughout Old Towne Orange, including the public parking structure near Lemon Street and Chapman Avenue. Parking availability is limited, and fees may be charged.
OPT does not operate or control the public parking lots. During the event, the City of Orange may allow independent nonprofit organizations to operate certain parking areas as fundraisers. Parking fees and operations are independent of OPT.

Is accessible parking available?

Designated accessible parking is available on South Grand Street, just south of Chapman Avenue. Accessible
spaces may also be available within nearby public parking lots.

Is there a designated rideshare or passenger drop-off area?

OPT does not operate a designated rideshare, taxi, or passenger drop-off area. Attendees should follow all
posted street restrictions and traffic-control directions.

Yes. The event takes place primarily within public streets in Old Towne Orange. Existing sidewalks, curb ramps, and pedestrian access routes remain open and are kept clear for accessibility.
Because this is an outdoor street event, attendees may encounter varying pavement conditions, slopes, crowds, and temporary event equipment.

Are accessible restrooms available?

Yes. Accessible portable restrooms are provided throughout the event area. Locations are identified on the official Event Map.

Is accessible seating or viewing space available?

Yes. Accessible seating or viewing areas are available near event stages.
Space may be limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are service animals permitted?

Yes. Service animals trained to perform work or tasks for an individual with a disability are permitted.
Pets, emotional-support animals, and other animals are not permitted within the event area.

Event Rules and Safety

What items or activities are prohibited?

The Event Code of Conduct applies throughout the event area. Prohibited items and activities include:

Pets and animals, except service animals.
Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, wagons, tricycles, and similar wheeled recreational devices.
Weapons, firearms, knives, fireworks, airguns, slingshots, and similar items.
Glass bottles, cans, and similar beverage containers.
Unauthorized vending, solicitation, advertising, or distribution.
Unpermitted performances, rallies, demonstrations, speeches, assemblies, or parades.
Overnight loitering within the event area.
Mobility devices and baby strollers are permitted. Attendees must follow posted signs and directions from OISF representatives, Orange Police Department personnel, Orange Fire Department personnel, and other authorized officials.

Are police and fire personnel present?

Yes. The Orange Police Department and Orange Fire Department provide public-safety services during the event. Immediately report emergencies, suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or missing persons to public-safety personnel or event staff.

Is the event held during bad weather?

The event is generally held rain or shine. Treats in the Streets may delay, modify, suspend, or cancel activities when weather or other conditions create a safety concern.
Official updates will be posted on optevents.org and Orange Plaza Traditions' official Facebook and Instagram channels.

Can I take photographs or videos?

Personal photography and video recording are permitted for private, noncommercial use, provided they do not interfere with event operations, pedestrian movement, vendors, performers, or other attendees.
Professional, commercial, promotional, news-media, or organized photography and filming require advance permission from Orange Plaza Traditions.

Children, Animals & Personal Items

What should I do if my child becomes lost?

Immediately notify the nearest Orange Police Department officer, Orange Fire Department representative, identifiable OPT volunteer or staff member, or the OPT Information Booth.
Do not leave the event area without first reporting the missing child.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to teach children to look for a uniformed police officer, firefighter, or identifiable event volunteer if they become separated.

What happens to lost property?

Lost property should be taken to the OPT Information Booth during the event. To ask about an item after the event, email info@optevents.org with a detailed description of the item and the approximate location and time it was lost.
Treats in the Streets cannot guarantee that lost property will be recovered or returned.

Are pets allowed?

No. Animals and pets are not permitted within the event area.

Selected vendors will be notified by email within 5-7 business days. Priority is given to City of Orange nonprofits, with first right of refusal offered to returning participants.

Food booths are limited to nonprofits selling holiday food or beverages; includes 10×10 tent, only; fee $600.
Commercial vendors can sell pre-packaged food at the commercial rate.

Arts and crafts booths

Arts and crafts booths require 70% handmade items; includes 10×10 tent only; booth fee $600.
